dave787 Westfield Sports Cars are delighted with the 50th delivery into France of the 1600 Sport Turbo since its introduction in Europe in 2009.
This is a fantastic mile stone and is down to the hard work by Mr Dumas and his team at Westfield France. We now look forward to celebrating the 100th delivery in the not so distant future.
January 10th, 2012 dave787 TRAX, the high-octane car event from Future Publishing, is hosting a gripping attempt to set the new world record in a Westfield Sport 1600 for 360′ ‘donut’ car spins at Silverstone next month.
Challenged by professional racing driver Jamie Morrow from Westfield Sportscars Limited, the current record stands at 161 consecutive spins, a record set by Terry Grant at the Santapod racetrack in February 2011.
Morrow aims to smash the current record and is even adding an element of precision by spinning his car around a fixed point.
Taking place on 3rd and 4th of September, TRAX will be attended by special guests including the former Stig, Ben Collins, and current ‘donut’ world record holder himself, Terry Grant.
TRAX appeals to all disciplines of motoring and welcomes every make and model, with over 4,500 performance, sport and motorsport cars set to be on display.
World-record challenger, Jamie Morrow, says: “I’m excited about TRAX and the challenge ahead. I’m going to push myself to the next level and am confident that I’ll break the current world record for consecutive 360′ spins! It’s exciting to think that we could make history at TRAX this year.”
Richard Schofield, Group Publishing Director for Future’s Automotive portfolio, adds: “TRAX is our season finale and most highly anticipated auto event which continues to excite, educate and inspire our customers. We’re really excited about Jamie’s record attempt and thrilled to have special guests like Ben Collins and Terry Grant joining us this year.”
The car manufacturer, Westfield Sportscars Limited, have provided a Westfield Sport 1600 production car to demonstrate the reliability and flexibility of one its entry level products, Simon Westwood, Sales and Marketing Director, says: “Westfield is delighted with the partnership with TRAX and to be able to prove the technical advancements in our production cars through events organised by TRAX.”
TRAX is the largest and final event in Future’s Adrian Flux Auto event series and will round off another year of successful shows.

January 10th, 2012 dave787 Nigel was inducted onto the Walk of Stars and also the Westfield Drift event!
Nigel was offered a passenger ride by Simon Westwood, Sales & Marketing Manager for Westfield Sports Cars but declined and said “no way, I want to drive”
In true racing driver style Nigel jumped into the car and after a quick briefing from both Simon and Westfield Active driver Jamie Morrow set off around the very tight and twisty figure of 8 course. It was soon clear that driving the tight course would take a little more practice or some further instruction from somebody who had already been driving the course for several hours.
Jamie jumped into the car and gave Nigel some valuable tips on drifting a Westfield and Nigel set off entertaining the crowds and showing that he really is an expert driver. Jamie Morrow said ” Wow he picked that up really quickly, may be we should ask him to come along to one of our Westfield Active days as an instructor where we teach people to drift a Westfield”

Westfield will be running a small drift event where passengers will be driven sideways up Broad Street for a small fee. Westfield also hope to get Nigel Mansell onto the drift event.
